VCTC invites you to join community walk audits in February
The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) invites the public to participate in community walk audits throughout February 2022 as part of its Comprehensive Transportation Plan update.
A walk audit helps identify how to make streets more comfortable and accessible for community members. No experience is necessary to participate. VCTC especially encourages youth and families to share their input about potential future improvements for their neighborhoods.
The Comprehensive Transportation Plan is a document that will plan for transportation in Ventura County over the next 30 years. The CTP will look at various modes of transportation and mobility, including walking, biking, driving, public transit, airports and more.
Participating in the walk audits is simple and can be done at an individual or group’s convenience throughout February 2022.
Step 1: Take a walk around your neighborhood, perhaps on the way to the park, grocery store or while taking kids to school. It’s recommended adults accompany youth.
Step 2: Answer 10 questions about transportation improvements in your local area through an online form, in English or Spanish. Paper forms are also available, if requested.
Everyone who completes the walk audits by February 28 will be entered into a drawing for a $50 bookstore gift card.
